Updated on October 09, 2015, 12:20 PM (IST): Low pressure area in Bay of Bengal moving away from the Indian region
The well-marked low pressure area, which was over north Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh now lies over Mizoram, South Bangladesh and adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal and Myanmar.
The system is likely to move in a northeast direction, away from the Indian region.
In view of the system NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura), some parts of upper Assam will receive light rain. The intensity and spread of rain will be more over the Myanmar region.
After 48 hours the rainfall activity in Northeast India will fade away completely as the system by that time will move away from the Indian region. Thereafter, dry conditions will prevail which is indicative that the Southwest Monsoon will withdraw from East and Northeast India.

The low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal has now intensified into a well marked low. The system will move in the north-north-east direction and is likely to give good rains over West Bengal, particularly Gangetic West Bengal and the northeastern states of India.
However, after 24 hours, rain will reduce over Gangetic West Bengal. Also, the intensity of rain will decrease over Northeast India in the next 48 hours.

A low-pressure area, which persists in the North Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify further into a well-marked low. This system will further result in fairly widespread rain and thundershowers over Gangetic West Bengal, Bangladesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
For the next two days, eastern parts of Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh will receive good rainfall. Scattered rainfall will continue over parts of Coastal Odisha as well.

The cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a low pressure area and is over northwest Bay of Bengal. According to weather models at Skymet, the system will become more marked.

The cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal is marked in the northwest Arabian Sea and West Bengal coast. Cloud configuration suggest that the system is taking shape of a low pressure area.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the cyclonic circulation could become more marked and move in a northeast direction, along the coast and influence weather over Odisha, West Bengal, NMMT region (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura) and Bangladesh in next 24 to 48 hours.

The cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal off north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coast has become less marked and insignificant.
But a fresh cyclonic circulation is brewing in eastcentral Bay of Bengal and its adjoining area. This weather system will intensify further and move in a northerly direction. In the process the cyclonic circulation will give light scattered rain over the east coast of the country like coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal.
After 2 to 3 days the system is likely to recurve in a northeast direction and give good rains over the southeast coast of Bangladesh and adjoining Myanmar region.
Updated on October 05, 2015, 11:23 AM (IST): System in Bay of Bengal to give rain over coastal AP and Odisha
The upper air cyclonic circulation over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coast is extending upto 3.1 km above mean sea level.
This cyclonic circulation was initially over Westcentral bay of Bengal and its adjoining area. From here the system has very slowly moved towards the Indian coast.
It is now going to move in a northerly direction and then recurve to move in a northeast direction.
In the process it will give light to moderate rain over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. By October 9 rainfall activity may increase over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh as well.
The system is not likely to intensify much thereafter.
Updated on October 01, 2015, 01:32 PM (IST): Weather system in Bay of Bengal nearing East Coast
The cyclonic circulation over Tenasserim Coast and Andaman Sea is now marked over west-central and east-central Bay of Bengal.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the system is gradually shifting closer to the East Coast.
The system is in process of getting more organised but it is expected to take at least 48 hours more to intensify into a low pressure area.
In wake of this, moderate showers are expected over coastal Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka during next 24 hours. Some places may witness isolated heavy showers also.

The cyclonic circulation in the North Andaman Sea has become more organised and under its influence a low pressure area is likely to form shortly.
The system is going to cause good weather activity over the Bay Islands. Some areas may receive heavy rains.
The system also has the potential to become a well-marked low pressure area as well. There is a possibility of the system turning into a depression also as it will be on water for significant time period.
The system is likely to move inland across the coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu by October 7 or 8.
Updated on September 28, 2015, 12:33 PM (IST): Potential low pressure area to give rain over the East Coast
At present, an upper air cyclonic circulation is seen over west-central Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to further intensify and is likely to induce a low-pressure area over west-central Bay of Bengal in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Due to this development, fairly widespread rain/thundershowers will occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Gradually, this system will move in a west northwest direction and will increase the rainfall activity over Coastal Andhra Pradesh by October 1.
The intensity of rain will further increase by October 2 and will cover most parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, many areas of Rayalaseema and some regions in Telangana and North Tamil Nadu. By October 3, the system will reach the Andhra Coast and may intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area.
Light to moderate rain is likely to occur over many areas of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Vidarbha, Odisha and Chhattisgarh on October 3 and 4. One or two places may receive heavy to very heavy rain. Gradually by October 5, the system will become insignificant.
However, rain will continue over the above-mentioned areas. Some parts of Jharkhand, West Bengal, North Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh will also receive scattered rain till October 6. This will probably be the last weather system of the Southwest Monsoo
