After observing unseasonal activities, rains have reduced in Madhya Pradesh during the last 24 hours. The intensity has gone down and only isolated light rain has been recorded in parts of South Madhya Pradesh such as Pachmarhi and adjoining region.
These rains were a result of the Confluence Zone, formed over central parts of the country including Madhya Pradesh. The convergence of dry and cold winds from the northwest direction with humid south-easterlies from the Bay of Bengal had resulted in cloud formation and subsequent rainfall during the last couple of days.
According to our meteorologists, the Confluence Zone has now shifted to the eastern parts of the country and slightly southwards. Thus, we expect rains to completely vacate Madhya Pradesh in next 24 hours.
Once the weather clears up, northwesterly winds would resume leading to a significant drop in the temperatures. Both day and night temperatures have already dropped by 3 to 4 degrees in northern and western parts of the state. For instance, Gwalior recorded a minimum of 5 degrees Celcius today morning.
The winter chill is expected to intensify further as cold winds from northerly direction would result in cold wave conditions. There are bright chances that minimums may slip to single digits in North and West MP during next three to four days.
