Madhya Pradesh is currently observing dry weather conditions but Chhattisgarh has received intermittent rains. However, the intensity of these rains have been light due to which the temperatures have dropped marginally to remain just above normal especially in the northern parts of these states.
Several places in Madhya Pradesh were witnessing heat wave conditions until April 13. Thereafter, temperatures decreased to some extent, but isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh are still under heat wave conditions.
Now, Cyclone Fani which has entered the Indian mainland, over Odisha is all set to impact the weather of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Moreover, a Cyclonic Circulation is seen over northern parts of Madhya Pradesh. Due to this Cyclonic Circulation as well as easterly winds blowing in the region due to Cyclone Fani, rain and thundershower activities are possible over northern districts of Madhya Pradesh such as Guna, Gwalior, Shivpuri and Tikamgarh.
Isolated thundershower activities may also occur over Northeast Madhya Pradesh.
Parts of Chhattisgarh may also receive one of two short spells of rain and thundershower during the next 24 to 48 hours.
By May 5, Cyclone Fani will weaken into a Depression and will reach Northeast India. Thereafter, the weather of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will become dry and hot with heat wave like conditions making a comeback in the region.
