Pollution levels in Delhi-NCR to remain high; cool nights to prevail

The national capital of India has been continuously facing dry weather since past many days. Rains have completely died out from Delhi-NCR region as well as from its adjoining areas.

However, morning and nights are cool while very warm afternoons are seen prevailing over the aforementioned region.

The reason for such weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen over Pakistan and adjoining North Rajasthan.

Under the influence of this weather system, southeasterly winds have once again begun to blow over Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad also some parts of Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh.

Along with this, the humidity levels are further likely to increase but since past 2-3 days, winds have been seeming calm. Also, during this period, wind speeds have occasionally reached up to 50-70kmph.

Due to the absence of gusty winds, pollutants kept on lingering near the earth surface and pollution levels continued to remain ‘very high’.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, winds from southeast or east direction will continue to prevail now over the aforementioned regions.

As of now, the speed of winds is also likely to further pace up. Hence, with this, improvements in the pollution levels are expected during next 3-4 days over Delhi/NCR and other parts of Northwestern Plains.

Meanwhile, haze and mist will persist during the morning hours. Whereas isolated pockets of Punjab and Haryana may also witness shallow fog conditions for short duration.

In Punjab, maximum temperatures will be ranging from 29-30 degrees Celsius. While day temperatures in Haryana are expected to remain around 28-32 degrees Celsius.

But overall, cool weather conditions will persist in Delhi/NCR, West Uttar Pradesh, North Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana for coming days.
