PM unable to attend swearing in ceremony of Jharkhand's CM due to dense fog

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not be able to take part in  Raghubar Das's swearing in ceremony as Jharkhand's CM due to dense fog in Delhi. Modi, along with BJP president Amit Shah, was scheduled to leave for Ranchi early in the morning, but the poor visibility conditions led to cancellation of flight.

Visibility at Palam airport was reported to be nil from the wee hours of Sunday morning till 10:30 am.
Prime Minister Modi made the announcement on social networking site Twitter.  “Was to travel to Jharkhand to attend the oath taking ceremony of Shri Raghubar Das but am unable to do so due to weather conditions," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Raghubar Das took over as the first non-tribal Chief Minister of Jharkhand today at the Morhabadi ground in Ranchi amid good weather conditions. Capital city had fairly good visibility conditions with clear skies. At 10.30 am, the temperature in the city was 18°C, observing a bright sunny day.

The ceremony was attended by thousands of supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party and its ally the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) had bagged 42 seats in the 81-member assembly. Chief ministers of some BJP-ruled states also attended the event.
