A Western Disturbance as an upper air system is moving across North Jammu and Kashmir. The system is likely to further move away North-eastwards. After a gap of 24 hours, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Northern Himalayan region.
During the last 24 hours, mostly dry weather prevailed over the hills, whereas cloudy sky was observed over most areas. Minimum temperatures rose, and a cool and pleasant day condition prevailed over the Northern parts of the country.
As a fresh Western Disturbance is approaching, there will be a further rise in temperature. Clouding will intensify over North Jammu and Kashmir. Light winds and a cool day with rise in morning temperatures is expected over the Northern region, while a marginal fall in temperatures may occur in parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Rain and snowfall activity may also occur over the higher reaches towards late evening /night.
Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir will witness mainly partly cloudy sky and dry weather. Isolated rain activities might be witnessed at higher reaches in few pockets.
In the last 24 hours, Bilaspur recorded minimum temperature of 10.4°C, Chamba 7.3°C, Dharamsala 11.4°C, Kullu 5.4°C, Shimla 9.0°C, Gulmarg -3°C, Jammu 12.3°C and Leh recorded -0.8°C.
It’s one of the best time for tourists to visit hill stations like Shimla , Kullu, Manali and Gulmarg as comfortable conditions are ahead for the hilly states.
