winter sport in Himachal PradeshAfter witnessing snow and rain for the last few days, hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will be witnessing pleasant weather conditions in the coming three to four days.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, latest Western Disturbance that had given fairly widespread snow and rain over these states, has now moved away and the region is now observing clear weather conditions.

In a span of last 24 hours, Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir recorded 4.8 mm of rain, Banihal 3.6 mm, Qazikund 2.6 mm and Srinagar 1.2 mm. In Himachal Pradesh, Manali received 2 mm of rain, while Kalpa recorded 0.4 mm. Besides these places, most of the locations witnessed dry weather.

In wake of the clear sky, maximum temperatures have already shown an increase, while minimum temperatures are now expected to drop.

As per Skymet, present weather conditions will continue till the next Western Disturbance approaches, which is likely to affect North India by weekend.

Western Disturbances become frequent during winters and are responsible for affecting the weather in the region to a large extent. These systems after approaching the region usually stay for 1-2 days and give short spells of rain. The system is called Western Disturbance due to its movement from west to east.
