Pleasant weather in Delhi as temperatures drop amidst rains

July 6, 2019 10:33 AM | Skymet Weather Team

During the last 24 hours, temperatures over the national capital Delhi have decreased by two to four degree Celsius. Also, light rain and thundershowers accompanied with strong winds were witnessed over scattered places. This has led to pleasant weather over the region.

These weather conditions are prevailing in the presence of a Trough which is passing in close vicinity of Delhi and NCR region. The Trough is extending from Punjab to Northwest Bay of Bengal in the lower levels. Simultaneously, a Western Disturbance as an upper air system is moving across the northern parts of Pakistan and adjoining parts of Jammu and Kashmir. While another Cyclonic Circulation lies over northern parts of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of South Uttar Pradesh. All these weather conditions have contributed to the incursion of moisture over Delhi NCR during the last 48 hours. And not to mention, the Southwest Monsoon has finally made an onset over Delhi just yesterday.

During the next 48 hours, the day will be very warm and humid. The humid conditions will be increasing further while night will remain comfortable. Short spells of rain and thundershowers cannot be ruled out over isolated places during the next 24 to 36 hours.

Otherwise, the weather will remain dry over most places during this period. No major weather activity is likely to start until July 8.
