Kashmir-Paradise-on-Earth post

Due to the presence of back to back active Western Disturbances, the hills of North India experienced continuous rainy days. In fact, snowfall was also observed in the upper reaches.

The effect was also experienced in the plains of Northwest India including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and NCR in the form of significantly drop of temperatures. Thus, the temperatures which were settling near 40 degrees Celsius in the plains, dipped and settled in higher 30s.

However, for the past two to three days, the weather of the hills of North India have been dry due to the passage of the weather system. As of now also, we do not expect any significant weather activity in the northern hills and the weather would continue to remain dry for at least another 24-48 hours.

Thereafter, by around April 26, a fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region. On account of this upcoming weather system, the hills my once again experience isolated light rains.

However, unlike the previous one, this weather system would not be very active and thus, the intensity of rains would not be on the higher side. Nevertheless, the intensity would be more over Jammu & Kashmir in comparison with Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In addition, snowfall is expected in the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

Hence, this is the perfect time to visit the hills of North India amidst cool and pleasant weather as these rains would not disturb normal life and would not cause travel disruptions.
