Pleasant weather ahead for Delhi, pollution levels to take a plunge

October 12, 2018 4:55 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Due to scattered rain, thundershower and heavy storm activities over Northern plains on October 11, day temperatures over the Delhi region have dropped considerably. The effect of these weather activities was seen today as well as the minimum temperatures dropped by 3 to 4 degree Celsius.

Now, the Western Disturbance has moved away, and the induced Cyclonic Circulation has also faded. Dry northwesterly winds have commenced over Northern plains over Delhi and the NCR region. Sky conditions are clear now, which is why day temperatures have increased by around two degrees today. For now, we do not expect any major weather activity in and around the Delhi area. Weather conditions are expected to remain dry and warm during day, however night will be cool and pleasant.

Pollution levels are likely to once again increase marginally. Stubble burning is being actively carried out in the states of Punjab and Haryana, therefore the smoke particle from this area will be carried towards Delhi by the prevailing northwesterly winds.

Minimum temperatures will start dropping further after October 20 leading to a nip in the air. Nights will start becoming slightly cooler. Pleasant weather lies ahead for the national capital, yet precautions have to taken from the rising pollution levels.
