As we proceed towards second half of February, Hyderabad is gearing up for pre-monsoon heat wherein day and night temperatures are expected to soar. Maximum temperature will be settling in mid 30s, while minimum temperatures will hover around 20°C.

At present, the city is witnessing pleasant weather conditions with maximums settling in early 30s, while minimums between 17°C and 18°C.

March, April and May are considered to be pre-monsoon months for the south region. During this period, there will be consistent rise in temperatures as we inch closer to the Southwest Monsoon.

In past, maximum temperature has even shot up to 40°C as well. Frequency of thunderstorms also increases from two in March to about seven in May.

Hyderabad, capital city of Telangana witnesses pleasant weather conditions throughout the year, barring few months of pre-monsoon. The city remains largely dry for at least one and half months during the month of January till the mid of February. Though, some spells of scattered rain are also recorded.

In the span of last 10 years, five years have been reported to be dry. This year too, the city has remained dry from January 3rd till now.

Hyderabad is located deep inside the land with almost equi-distance from each of the coast on its either side. With these geographical features, the city does not get influenced with coastal weather. It is also far away from northwest India, thus it is neither affected with any Western Disturbance, nor, any induced system that affects weather over Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

Moreover, easterly winds or cyclonic circulation in Bay of Bengal or Arabian Sea do not reach up to the walled city, as they are confined to coastal parts only.
