Pleasant evenings in Mumbai as Delhi continues to swelter

While the entire country continues to reel under intense heatwave conditions, it is Mumbai where the scorching summer situation has remained absent for quite some time now.

Maximums in Delhi have crossed the 40 degree mark. The Safdarjung Observatory in Delhi recorded its first 40 degree Celsius of the season.

On the other hand, Mumbai has recorded its maximum as a mere 34 degree Celsius.

While afternoons do remain slightly uncomfortable, the evenings are pleasant with temperatures in the lower 20s. It seems like currently Bangalore has given its nice weather crown to Mumbai for some time.

Presently, southwesterly winds from the sea are blowing over Mumbai resulting in pleasant evenings over the commercial capital of India. While humidity levels do remain on the higher side, maximums which have been in the lower 30s have kept the sweltering conditions at bay.

On the other hand, the scorching summer heat has returned to Delhi. Not only is the afternoon sun unbearable but the evenings are also uncomfortable.

During the morning hours, winds from the land blow over Mumbai, but as the day progresses, cool sea breeze takes charge resulting in relatively cooler evenings.

Now, for the next few days, evenings will continue to be pleasant in Mumbai while Kolkata, Delhi, and Bangalore will continue to reel under intense heat. The day temperatures will also remain below the 35 degree mark keeping the summer heat far away from Mumbaikars.
