Pleasant Days Ahead For Delhi, No Rain For One Week

October 30, 2021 11:07 AM | Skymet Weather Team

National capital has been observing slightly nippy nights and early mornings and pleasantly warm days since last one week. Delayed withdrawal of the southwest monsoon kept the first fortnight slightly warm and humid.  Day and night temperatures generally hovered around mid 30’s and mid 20’s respectively. Reversal in the wind pattern after the withdrawal of monsoon has rapidly transformed the weather conditions. The change is likely to get accelerated in the coming week or two with more chill in the air, more so during the wee hours.

The minimum temperature has already reached 14°C and is expected to drop further by 1°C in the next 48hr. In the absence of any active western disturbance for the plains, mostly hazy mornings and sunny days are expected for at least one week. Good weather spell may extend further in to 2nd week of November. During this period, the weather activity on account of passage of a weak western disturbance, will remain confined to the mountains and partially along the foothills of Punjab and Haryana, between 04th and 06thNovember.

Minimum temperatures during October have dropped from 26°C to 14°C. Both, maximum and minimum temperature have stayed below normal by 2-3°C, for the last one week. The normal range of minimum temperature during November starts with 15°C in the 1st week and lowers to about 10°C at the fag end. Mercury is expected to stay below normal, except on cloudy days and these can be expected not before the 2nd half of November. Last year 2020, the month of November was the coldest in the national capital in 71 years.
