Winter chill has been gripping Delhi-NCR for the last few days, leaving people shivering in their abodes. However, we can now expect respite from chilly winds as the city is now gearing up for pleasant and sunny weather.
According to Skymet Weather, temperatures have been settling on the lower side, particularly minimum temperatures that are below the normal average by 2-3 degrees. Day temperatures are also hovering just around the normal.

On Monday, the national capital recorded the minimum temperature at 7˚C, which was two degrees below the normal average.
Have a look at the maximum and minimum temperatures during the last 2-3 days that would give you a fair idea of the situation.
Not only this, the national capital has also been witnessing dense to very dense fog since January 26, which is also now set to reduce significantly.
As per the weathermen, the approach of an active Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir, would now obstruct the flow of cold winds that have been blowing snow-clad Himalayas. As a result, both the minimum and maximum temperatures would now rise by 2-3 degrees.
Hence, the winter chill would remain absent from Delhi and adjoining areas of Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad for the next 3-4 days. The intensity of fog would also reduce but dense to very dense will continue in pockets for at least for the next 48 hours. However, duration of fog will not be prolonged one and would also lift early as sun rises, leading to pleasant and sunny day.
By February 2, the affecting Western Disturbances would move away and the icy cold winds from northwest will once again commence over the northern plains including Delhi. In wake of this, day and night temperatures would once again start falling.
