Hindu Shrine of Vaishno Devi is one place that witnesses thousands of footfall despite of its extreme weather conditions. Winter is at its peak, with morning temperatures touching new lows every day.
Devotees planning a trip to Vaishno Devi must brace themselves to battle extreme cold conditions. Making it worse is the flow of icy cold winds from the snow-clad Himalayas that further adds to chill-effect.

According to Skymet Weather, night would be chilly, while day would be sunny during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, weathermen are anticipating a Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir by January 4-5. During this time, days would see partly cloudy to cloudy weather. Apart from this, the system would not have any major impact on the weather and thus, chances of rain and snow would be bleak.
Its effect would be restricted till the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. With all these weather conditions, both the maximum and minimum temperatures would drop gradually, specifically the night temperatures.

In the coming days, minimum temperatures at Vaishno Devi would be settle around 2˚C-3˚C, while maximum temperatures would be between 11˚C-12˚C.
Meanwhile, Katra would be slightly better with maximum temperatures around 18˚C or 19˚C and morning temperatures would hover around 6˚C-7˚C.
