Perfect time to relish cold weather in Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand

November 6, 2017 5:44 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Since the beginning of the month of November, only dry weather remained prevalent over the northern hills of the country namely Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. This weather scenario can be attributed to the feeble Western Disturbances that are approaching the Western Himalayas.

In wake of these fragile weather systems, any significant activity in terms of rain or snow is not anticipated over the above mentioned states. The weather will continue to remain dry for at least one week.

By the second week of November just after ten to fifteen days, the Western Disturbances that will approach the Western Himalayas will move in the lower latitudes, as a consequence, temperatures are likely to fall considerably, paving way for severe winter conditions.

In fact, weathermen at Skymet Weather expect the intensity of Western Disturbances to pick up pace with which possibilities of snowfall will become prominent in the higher reaches.
