Peninsular India rains increase with onset of Monsoon 2016

Southwest Monsoon 2016 has now officially been declared in Kerala. The cyclonic circulations on either side of the Indian coastline are enhancing rainfall activities not only along the coast but also over the interiors of Peninsular India. Interiors of all the state of Peninsular India have witnessed good showers.

Here’s a look at the rainfall figures in the interiors of Peninsular India during last 24 hours:

Both the weather systems, upper air cyclonic circulations over eastcentral Arabian Sea off the Karnataka coast and another one in the westcentral Bay of Bengal off the Andhra Coast, are keeping the Monsoon surge active over the Peninsular India.

As of now, Southwest monsoon has further advanced over many parts of south Arabian sea, remaining parts of Maldive­Comorin area, most parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, some parts of South Interior Karnataka, remaining parts of south Bay of Bengal and some more parts of central Bay of Bengal. Therefore, rainfall activities will continue over the entire Peninsular India for the next couple of days.

It had been raining heavily along the coastal areas so far and now it's time for the interiors to receive some good rains.
