Many parts of East India have been witnessing a few good spells of Monsoon rains during the past few days. In fact, there have been occasional heavy spells of rainfall over the region as well.
After Southwest Monsoon made an onset over eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh, good rains also made their way in these areas. Isolated pockets in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar as well as Jharkhand have recorded a few good spells of rain in the past 24 hours as well.

In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 a.m on Saturday, Ranchi witnessed 28 mm of rain, Lucknow 22.4 mm. Supaul 4.4 mm, Bahraich 17 mm, and Banda 16.4 mm.
These rainfall activities are attributed to the presence of a low-pressure area which is lying currently over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar region.

Along with this, a trough is also extending from this system up to the East Coast across Jharkhand and Bihar. With this, moisture incursion will increase over the region resulting in cloud development.
Thus, as far as the forecast for the next 24 hours is concerned, areas of East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand as well as Bihar are likely to witness isolated heavy showers. The rainfall intensity will remain higher over East Uttar Pradesh region.
