June 8, 2017 1:56 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Pre-Monsoon activities over the eastern states of the country including Bihar have been satisfactory. Parts of states continued to record good rainfall during the last 24 hours as well.

All thanks to the cyclonic circulation persisting over extreme South Bihar and adjoining Jharkhand. A north-south trough is also extending from this system to Odisha.

The intensity of these activities was mainly light to moderate over the parts of Bihar. Gaya received 25 mm, Patna 11 mm, Purnia 3 mm and Bhagalpur 0.2 mm. These rainfall activities gave some relief from the heat.

Further, weathermen predict that the persisting trough is likely to move further towards the west. Moderate spells with lightning strike are also expected over northeast parts of Bihar and will continue for the next 48 hours.
