Patna, Chapra, Gaya, Ranchi likely to witness rains

The eastern states of Bihar and Jharkhand have been reeling under dry weather conditions for a long time. However, slight changes in the weather conditions were observed in parts of both the states during the last 48 hours.

A trough is reaching southern India, extending from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Under its effect, partially cloudy skies are expected to appear in parts of West Bihar and West Jharkhand by today evening.

Further, light rains accompanied with thunderstorms are expected over western districts of both the states, especially in districts like Chapra, Siwan, Ara, Sasaram, Aurangabad, Daltonganj, Gumla, and Simdega. Meanwhile, the eastern parts of the states including stations like Gaya, Patna, Bhagalpur, Ranchi, and Dhanbad, may witness cloudy skies but the weather would remain mainly dry.

The weather system is gradually predicted to reach the eastern parts of Bihar and Jharkhand from the western regions. It would, in turn, increase the rain activity over the eastern parts of the state. Light rain along with thunderstorm can be seen at one or two places in the central and eastern districts including Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh, Patna, Gaya and Bhagalpur on March 22.

As this is the pre-Monsoon season, the incidents of rain occurring along with heavy storm, lightning, and cloudburst which is called Kaal Baisakhi. However, during the next 2 days, this seasonal stir cannot be reclaimed as northwesters. Due to this change in the weather, the temperature of both the states that are currently running above normal would reduce.
