After a good spell of rain on August 1, rainfall has now decreased over Haryana and Punjab. However, patchy rains still can be seen in these areas. In the last 24 hours, Patiala, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Ambala, Karnal have recorded a short spell of rain and thundershowers. Like Chandigarh recorded 7.1 mm of rains, Patiala 26.6 mm, and Karnal 4.6 mm.
Presently, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Punjab and the axis of Monsoon Trough is south of these states and is over North of Rajasthan. This system is likely to shift North and move across these states around August 6. The significant rains may not affect these states majorly during the next two days.
During this time, patchy rains and thundershowers will continue to affect these regions. Mainly Chandigarh, Panchkula, Rupnagar, Patiala, Karnal, and Pathankot will see patchy and short rain showers probably of good intensity. While isolated rain activity is also possible over rest parts of these states. Warm and humid weather will continue to prevail with mostly dry conditions in parts of Sirsa, Fatehabad, Bhatinda, Fazlika, Ferozepur, and Muktsar.
