Delhiites witnessed a rainy day yesterday with most parts of the national capital receiving good Monsoon showers. Parts of Noida and South Delhi particularly received very heavy rainfall. However, the rainfall was patchy in nature. Not only did these rains bring a sigh of relief to the residents of Delhi-NCR, but they also kept the temperatures under check.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Noida observed a whopping 34 mm of rain, Pusa (10 mm), and Akshardham (4 mm). Palam and Safdarjung observatories recorded 7 mm and 6.6 mm of rain, respectively. This heavy downpour resulted in waterlogging in many areas of the city. Not only this, the rain added to the traffic woes as vehicles moved at a crawling pace.

The conditions are favourable for patchy rain in the national capital today as well. Also, Sunday is expected to witness similar weather conditions. In short, the national capital is most likely to observe a rainy weekend. However, the rainfall will be patchy in nature. The maximum temperature will settle in the mid 30s, while minimum will hover in the 20s.

This rainy spell will not last for long and starting August 24, the temperatures will witness a gradual rise. The weather conditions will become hot and uneasy around August 26 and 27, as the maximum is expected to reach around 38°C.
