After witnessing a rainy weekend, Delhi and the adjoining cities are once again under the influence of warm and humid weather. From the last 48 hours, Delhi has mainly remained dry and no single spell of rains has been recorded in Delhi and the nearby areas.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, both the Safdarjung and Palam Observatory had failed to record any spell of rains. In fact, the maximum temperatures that were under 30’s on the weekend also scaled up to settle near 36°C.

The reason for this warm and humid weather in Delhi can be attributed to the absence of any significant weather system prevailing over the region. As of now also, the weather of Delhi and NCR is expected to remain somewhat similar with possibilities of some scattered rains. The day temperature may also drop. At present also, parts of Central Delhi is witnessing some light patchy rains.
However, morning is expected to remain comfortable as moist easterly winds are prevailing over Delhi and the surrounding regions. Though high humidity level, especially during the daytime, will bother the Delhiites.

As per Skymet Weather, after 48 hours, the rain intensity is likely to increase marginally. The Low-Pressure Area which is over Saurashtra region in Gujarat is likely to weaken. Moreover, the axis of Monsoon trough is likely to shift towards the north again.
The combination of these two weather systems may result in scattered rain and thundershowers over some parts of Delhi including the adjoining Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad. Though until the next week, heavy showers for a long duration and covering a larger portion of the city is not anticipated. Partly cloudy to cloudy sky will prevail.
