Patchy Delhi rains to continue till September 8, comfortable weather ahead

September 5, 2018 7:33 PM |

Rain in delhiRainy affair continued for the fifth consecutive day for Delhi NCR on Wednesday. Day began with the cloudy sky, with both Palam and Safdarjung Observatory reporting rains of varying intensity.

According to Skymet Weather, rains were patchy in nature, wherein few areas recorded light rains, while few pockets recorded moderate spells.

September has made a thumping start, with Delhi-NCR surpassing its monthly average rainfall in first four days of the month itself. So far, Delhi has recorded 149.2 mm of rain against the normal average of 129.8 mm.

The ongoing rainy spell has restricted the rise in temperatures, which are settling well below the normal range. This has paved way for extremely pleasant weather conditions during mornings as well as evenings. Usually September is known for discomfort on account of high humidity, less rains, bright sunshine and rising temperatures.

As per weathermen, Monsoon trough has played a significant role in these rains. Besides this, persistent cyclonic circulation over Haryana and adjoining areas led to this prolonged spell.

Further, weather conditions will remain favourable for rains to continue for at least next 3 days over the national capital and nearby areas of Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. However, rain activity would be on reducing note and would be patchy in nature.

Major clearance would be seen after September 10. Thereafter, we would see a stark difference in the conditions, wherein wind pattern will change to dry northwesterly, bright sunshine, and increase in temperatures. The only respite would be seen in terms of reduction in humidity.

Not only this, gradually we will start slipping into the withdrawal phase which would be possibly around September 20.
