Patchy Delhi rains to continue, Monsoon to see delayed withdrawal

September 22, 2022 12:20 PM |

Delhi has been seeing some rainfall activities for the past few days. These patchy rains are expected to be seen over Delhi and the NCR region. Moreover, the national capital may see about 50 mm rains in the next four days.

Monsoon is on the verge of withdrawal and has already commenced teh process of withdrawal from West Rajasthan. Delhi is not far away from the region. Sometimes, after the withdrawal starts from rajasthan, it takes just about 2 to 3 days for monsoon to withdraw from the national capital, which was the case last year.

However, this year, it will not be the case for Delhi and withdrawal is expected to be delayed by some time. The pattern is such that until September 25, we can expect some showers to continue over the national capital. Moreover unlike the rain pattern the Delhi saw in the first week of September wherein weather conditions remained dry, in the past one week, parts of Delhi has seen about 50 mm of rains.

Rains have been patchy with Palam recording 25-30 mm in the past week, while some parts saw 80 mm rains in just about 24 hours. Even after September 25, rains will not cease and some light showers can be seen until the end of the month, delaying the withdrawal to the end of the month, which may even extend to first couple of days in October.

Weather conditions have become slightly pleasant with the humidity and heat vanishing away because of rains and the cloud cover. Temperatures continue to be in the range of 32 to 34°, however, due to the cloud cover the heat factor will not be seen for the next few days.
