Delhi rains continue to play hide and seek. After drenching the capital of the country, good rains took a break and from last 48 hours, the weather of Delhi and NCR has gone on to become dry once again. Delhi and NCR have not seen rains from last 2 days.

Both the Safdarjung and Palam Observatory in Delhi have not recorded any rains in the last 24 hours as well. Though at present, the weather of Delhi and the adjoining regions such as Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad are witnessing cloudy weather, this overcast sky may not result in heavy rains. However, passing showers can occur anytime soon

As per Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon trough is over north of Delhi. Due to this, westerly winds were blowing over the region. As these winds are westerlies, humidity levels have decreased and the weather has remained dry.

Now, a low-pressure area is passing through the central parts of the country via Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. This weather system will be responsible for pulling down the trough towards south thereby leading to light rains over part of Delhi and NCR. On account of slight oscillation of the trough towards south, light rains are expected at a few places in Delhi and adjoining Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad by August 5 and 6.

Thereafter, by August 8 or 9, the intensity of rains is expected to pick up the pace. It is then that moderate rains will occur at many parts of Delhi and NCR.
