Passing by Monsoon rains bounces good showers over Madhya Pradesh

This year Southwest Monsoon has played its finest role over the state of Madhya Pradesh. During the entire season, Monsoon rains have bestowed over most parts of the state.

In fact, during last 24 hours as well, mainly scattered light to moderate showers had occurred over Southeast and Southwest Madhya Pradesh.

The reason for these showers can be attribute to the cyclonic circulation which was over Chhattisgarh that at present lies over South Chhattisgarh and adjoining Vidarbha region.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am as on Thursday, region that experienced light to moderate showers along with heavy spells is Rewa which witnessed a whopping 96.4 mm rains.

Other regions that have witnessed moderate showers during the similar time frame include Pachmarhi with 15 mm showers, Umaria 17.6 mm, Khandwa 15 mm, Betul 12.2 mm, Seoni 11.6 mm and Satna recorded 5.2 mm of wet spells. On the other hand, the capital city of the state, Bhopal, had recorded mere 1 mm of rainy spells.

Moreover, a trough which was extending from East Uttar Pradesh to North Madhya Pradesh has also become less marked.

In the wake of this weather system, these rains are expected to continue for another 24 hours. Gradually, West Madhya Pradesh is expected to receive more rains as compared to the other regions of the state. However, scattered light rains are likely over rest parts of Madhya Pradesh.

As now Southwest Monsoon is almost on its last stage for the year, it can be said that the Monsoon had remained active over Madhya Pradesh almost entire season.

Considering the rainfall statistics of the state, West Madhya Pradesh concluded the Southwest Monsoon season by observing a rain surplus of 19% whereas, East Madhya Pradesh stands at 18% rain surplus this season.

It can thence be concluded that Southwest Monsoon played one of the best of its roles over entire Madhya Pradesh.
