Passage of Western Disturbance results in clear weather conditions

February 22, 2023 1:22 PM |

Mountain rains have cooled down the plains with rain and snow taking a break for a while. In fact, during the last 24 hours, Shimla recorded 24 mm of rain, Manali 16 mm, Tehri 7 mm, Dharamsala 7 mm, Dehradun 5 mm, and Bhuntar 3 mm.

Now, the system has moved away and clearance is expected to be seen for some time. However, the respite is expected to be short and brief only.

North Indian Plains that had seen extreme high heat have seen a fall in temperatures but these temperatures continue to be above normal, and may fall by about 1-3 degrees for the next two days. However, despite this, temperatures will continue to be above the normal levels. Thus, the extreme heat has reduced but we do not expect the mercury levels to come anywhere even near the normal levels.

Once again, around February 25 another system is expected but this spell will be seen over the hills. With the appearance of the system and the change in the wind pattern, temperatures will once again increase over the plains of North India.
