As the Monsoon withdrawal nears for Mumbai, Mumbaikars are getting impatient to bid farewell to the continuous rains that have been lashing the city for last many days.
According to the data available with Skymet, during the last 21 hours as well, Mumbai has received moderate showers to the tune of 23 mm. Day before yesterday on the occasion of Ganpati Visarjan, the city received a much higher figure of 41 mm rains. Although these rains were well distributed throughout the day. Therefore, there was no waterlogging and no disturbance hampered the celebrations.
Now, we expect these rains to reduce further. On and off light rains will continue today. Although one or two moderate spells cannot be ruled out over the city today as well.
Tomorrow, we expect on and off light rains over Mumbai and suburbs. Rains of similar intensity are likely to continue over the region for another four to five days.
A gradual increase in temperatures is also anticipated from tomorrow onward as the rain intensity will go down. Weather will once again become sultry. But there will be significant relief from continuous rain activities which were going on since the beginning of September.
As a relief for Mumbaikers, now the threat of heavy downpour and subsequent flooding is almost over for the city for the rest of September.
