Scattered rain and thundershowers have occurred over Vidarbha while isolated rains were seen over Marathwada during last 24 hours. Brahmapuri received 4.6 mm of rain, Udgir 4.2 mm, Wardha 3.6 mm, Nagpur 1.8 mm, Yavatmal 0.4 mm and Amravati traces of rain.
At present, a trough is running from Vidarbha to south Tamil Nadu across Marathwada, interiors of Karnataka and interior parts of Tamil Nadu. Therefore, we expect scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers over Vidarbha and Marathwada for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, intensity of rainfall will decrease but on and off isolated thundershowers will continue over the city. Pre-Monsoon activity will once again pick up from May 10 and continue till May 12.
We expect some relief from heatwave like conditions over these areas. Though maximums will remain in higher-thirties or forties but heatwave conditions are not expected to make a comeback in next one week. Minimum will also remain in a comfortable zone of 23 to 26 degree Celsius.
