April generally remains hot and dry in Gujarat. The effect of the Western Disturbances and cyclonic circulations do not travel up to Gujarat, making the interiors of the state quite hot.
Saurashtra and Kutch lying on the coastline of the Arabian Sea enjoy coastal weather but Gujarat region per say remains oppressive. Thus, we can say that the entire state witnesses varying weather conditions.
At present, maximum inAhmedabadis 40.5°C,Amreli40.3°C and Vadodra 40.2°C. Coastal stations are better off with day temperature settling in low thirties. Here’s a look at the day temperatures in several cities of Gujarat.
The wind patterns influence the temperature profile in Gujarat. As and when, Western Disturbances with induced cyclonic circulations develop in North India, the wind pattern in Gujarat chances. Hot and dry northerly winds coming from the land get replaced by moist and relatively less hot westerly winds from the sea. These winds keep the temperatures under check.
Gujarat has been showing a rise in temperatures for the last few days but now we can expect slight relief. This is because a fresh Western Disturbance has developed in North India. It will bring rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Its effects will trickle down to foothills of Punjab and Haryana as well. Though Gujarat will not receive any rain but the winds will change, bring down maximums in the Gujarat region to about higher thirties.
