The state of Gujarat has had misses with good monsoon so far. This is due to the absence of any Monsoon system forming in the Arabian Sea which causes good rains over the state.
Now, the state Gujarat has been receiving rains and will continue to lash many parts today as well as tomorrow. In fact, some rains may be seen on September 10 as well.
These rains are attributed to the low pressure area which is over Maharashtra and adjoining Gujarat region. The associated cyclonic circulation is extending up to 7.6 km from the mean Sea level.
Isolated heavy spells of rainfall have already been seen in the last 24 hours with Valsad recording 111 mm of rains, Surat 94 mm, Bhavnagar 41 mm, Mahuva 38 mm.
Today and tomorrow that is September 8th and 9th, rainfall belt is expected to cover the entire state of Gujarat and many parts of the state are expected to see heavy to very heavy rainfall activities.
These rainfall activities will be instrumental in bringing down the rainfall deficiency of Gujarat substantially, which has otherwise been on the higher side.
