Since the last few days, moderate rains with one or two heavy spells were going on over Konkan and Goa. Also, isolated rains were observed over Vidarbha and Maharashtra. Now, however, we expect rain intensity to reduce over most parts of Konkan and Goa particularly over the northern districts of Mumbai, Thane and Dhanu.

However, scattered light to moderate rains are likely to continue over southern districts of Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. Light to moderate rains are also possible over Madhya Maharashtra.

On the other hand, rain activities are expected to increase over the Vidarbha region. We expect isolated light rains with one or two moderate spells over Vidarbha until June 21.

On June 22 and 23, parts of North Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Marathwada may receive a few good spells of rains.

On June 24 and 25, isolated heavy rains are possible over Vidarbha, while scattered rains might continue over Marathwada. This is when the rains will once again pick up pace over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai.

We expect Monsoon to arrive over South Konkan and Goa and adjoining parts of South Madhya Maharashtra by June 22. But for the Monsoon arrival, Mumbai will have to wait for some more days. We expect Monsoon to reach Mumbai around June 26 or 27. This will be a delay of around 18 days.
