After a really long wait,Punehas recorded good rains in the last 2 days. Last time such rain happened over Pune was around July 10-13. In the last 48 hours good rains was observed over the city.
In the last 24 hours only the city recorded 40 mm of rain. Now we expect that the rain intensity will go down significantly. Temperatures may also increase by a few degrees. But that will not affect the weather in particular as it will be pleasant.
Maximum temperatures for the city will be around 27 °C.
As far as the rainfall figures go, the monthly average rainfall for Pune is 122.3 mm and the cumulative rainfall till date is 60.6 mm. It is only August 3 and the rainfall has already almost touched 50% of its monthly average. It is expected that the monthly average will be surpassed easily.
Western Ghats receives much more rain in comparison to interior parts. Places like Raigarh and coastal areas gets moderate to heavy rainfall. But Pune receives slightly less rainfall and only on few occasions, heavy rain is witnessed over the city.
Skymet Weather thinks that the weather will not go completely dry over Pune for the next few days. Occasional light rain can be expected to continue over the region.
