The city of palaces, Hyderabad has been battling severe heatwave conditions in the month of May. Similar weather conditions also prevailed over other parts of Telangana with mercury levels settling above the normal average.
Though on and off light rains continued during the month of May, only one good spell of 61 mm rainfall has been recorded which occurred on May 9. Now, we expect that dry weather to persist for next 48 hours. Around the first week of June, rain will once again pick up pace and commence over Telangana including Hyderabad.

According to Skymet weather, on and off light rains will continue till the fifth of June. Thereafter rain intensity is expected to increase over the city. By June 5-6, there are chances of Monsoon making an onset over Hyderabad on time or before time.
Temperatures of Hyderabad will fall further during the second week of June. Weather will become pleasant by the first week of June and we expect good rains over Hyderabad. If Hyderabad receives a good amount of rainfall in the month of June, the soil moisture intensity will increase which will be beneficial for the sowing of Kharif crop.
