Bengaluru weather has once again become pleasant as Monsoon rains have begun to lash the capital city of Karnataka. At present, cloud development has taken place and many areas of Bengaluru are receiving good rains.
However, these rains will only be short lived and rain activity will not be as heavy as in the coastal parts of the state wherein moderate to heavy rains are lashing the region.
Southwest Monsoon is currently active over Coastal Karnataka and Monsoon rains are also expected to pick up pace over North Interior Karnataka. However, South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru will receive much lesser rainfall.

However, weather will not go completely dry and on off rains will continue mostly during late afternoon and evening hours. This situation is expected to continue for the next 3 to 4 days. Due to this, weather will remain pleasant despite of less rains.
These weather conditions will persist over the garden city of India as cloudy sky conditions will keep the hot weather far away from the city.
Due to the presence of hills over the Western Ghats, majority of rain is received by the coastal districts. Thus, rain usually reduces as we move inland. Heavy rains usually occur whenever a wind discontinuity or a trough develops over Interior Karnataka.
During that time, humid winds from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea reach Bengaluru giving good rains, Otherwise, the city does not receive heavy rains as Mumbai does during the four month long Southwest Monsoon period.
