From a long time, Delhi rains have been playing games with the locals. The weather mostly remains cloudy with on and off sunny spells that have been making the Delhi weather pleasant and comfortable.
Delhi rains after witnessing a few dry days have finally made a comeback and with only a day or two without rains. Though the intensity of these rains was mainly light and patchy in nature, they were sufficient in curtailing down the ongoing humidity levels. The day time high also settled in the lower 30’s plummeting from the scorching 38-39°C.

Rains occurred in Delhi including the nearby areas such as Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad yesterday as well. In fact, a sudden heavy spell occurred in Delhi and NCR late Monday evening as well that led to comfortable and pleasant weather. In a span of the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Delhi’s Safdarjung Observatory recorded 3 mm of rains, Palam Observatory witnessed 13 mm while Ridge Observatory recorded light rains of 1.2 mm.

As per Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing south of Delhi through Bikaner to the northeast Bay of Bengal. Due to this, moist easterly winds are blowing over the region which is leading to the development of convective clouds thereby resulting in light rains.
Skymet Weather further reiterates that, as there is no significant weather system at present over Delhi and NCR, hence, heavy falls have failed to show up. However, by July 27, the Monsoon trough is likely to shift towards North which is expected to give good rains over Delhi and the adjoining regions. Thereafter, by July 28-29, Delhi rains may further intensify leading to some exceptional showers.
