Delhi rains have remained light in nature and the national capital has been witnessing some rains for the past two days or so.
In fact, since yesterday, i.e. August 6, winds have changed direction over Delhi and NCR, Dry westerly winds which were responsible for dry spell over Delhi have now been replaced by humid southeasterly winds.
Moreover, the axis of Monsoon trough has also shifted south and at present is passing through the national capital. However, rains have not increase significantly yet. Meanwhile, scattered light rains are being witnessed in many parts of Delhi and the NCR since yesterday.
Weather conditions have also become cloudy. Now, we expect few short spells of rains to continue over the city of Delhi and adjoining areas of NCR including Noida, Gurugram, Ghaizabad and Faridabad for the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, due to the westwards movement of well marked low which is over Odisha, the axis of Monsoon trough will further shift south and Delhi weather may once again become dry. However, easterly winds will ensure that clouds will remain and isolated showers cannot be ruled out.
Rains will once again make a comeback around August 10 when the axis of Monsoon trough will resume its northward movement. Temperatures will continue to settle in the lower 30s and Delhi heat is not likely to make a comeback. While the weather will remain humid but due to low maximums, conditions will not become as comfortable.
