The deep depression in east central Bay of Bengal has now intensified into Cyclone Mora. In fact, this system is likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours.
Cyclone Mora will continue its track northwards towards Bangladesh Coast and is expected to make landfall over Chittagong city by tomorrow afternoon.
This will give moderate rain and thundershowers over Odisha Coast and also over Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata. In fact, one or two places may see some heavy rains during the next 24 hours. The sky will be cloudy over most districts of Odisha and West Bengal. Temperatures are also expected to drop further, leading to pleasant weather conditions. The sea will remain rough. Fishermen are advised not to venture out in the sea.

Thus, after 24 hours, rain and thundershowers will reduce over Coastal Odisha, however scattered light showers will continue. In the same manner, Gangetic West Bengal will record light to moderate rains for next 48 hours.
In fact, since last few days intermittent rains are going on over these states, now we expect the intensity of these showers to increase. Before this rainy episode, heatwave conditions wrapped up Odisha and West Bengal.
