Odisha Heat Wave: Bhubaneswar sizzles as heat wave grips

featuredOdisha is known for its brutal and unforgiving summer heat and this year we got to wintess its unforgiving nature a bit early. The heat swept across Odisha as most parts sizzled with high temperature across the capital Bhubaneswar. This made the capital the hottest place in the Odisha, recording 41.7°C.

Bhubaneswar had recorded a maximum temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius yesterday and saw a sharp rise in the temperature to 41.7°C.

The day to day life was affected due to this sudden rise in temperature. The entire Bhubaneswar faced hot and dry winds blowing throughout the day, restricting many from performing regular day tasks.

In the rest of the state, heat wave intensified with Malkangiri recording a maximum temperature of 40.6°C, followed by 40.2°C in Bhawanipatna and 40°C at Bolangir as well as Titlagarh.

In the coal producing region of Angul and Talcher, the temperature stood at 39.7°C and 39.2°C respectively, while in the industrial zone of Jharsuguda, the mercury touched 39.3°C.
