The cyclonic circulation persists over Odisha and adjoining areas. Due to this weather system fairly widespread rain has occurred over Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

Odisha is at present 44% rainfall surplus and Chhattisgarh is 48% rainfall surplus for the month of October. During the last 24 hours hour from 08:30 am don Saturday many areas of Odisha received good rainfall. One or two places in Odisha even received extremely heavy rainfall, like Titlagarh recorded 187 mm of rainfall.

Now a trough is extending from the weather system extends up to North Bihar, and we expect this cyclonic circulation to move in a northerly direction. Therefore rain intensity over Odisha is likely to decrease but Chhattisgarh will continue to receive moderate showers at a few places.

But after 24 hours we expect that rain intensity will decrease but scattered light showers will occur over these two states.  By October 11, weather of Chhattisgarh will go dry but isolated rains cannot be ruled out.

But Odisha, particularly north coastal Odisha will continue with scattered showers for next 2-3 days. However, south Odisha will also become dry after 48 hours.

After weakening of this cyclonic circulation, rains will remain confined to East India, especially over Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha.
