The fag end of February, Odisha catches up to the heat with maximums reaching up to 40 degrees. In fact, last year only, Odisha had seen temperatures recording 40 degrees around February 26 itself for cities including Bhubaneswar and Ongole.
The month of March heats up even further with many places recording 40 degrees. However, this year, it was showing a little mercy and until now, temperatures remained closer to the normal levels.
In fact, now also, it is only the interior parts of the state including Titlagarh (42.7 degrees), Sambalpur (40 degrees), Bolangir, (42.5 degrees) Bhawanipatnam (41 degrees) where maximums are reaching above 40 degrees. All these places have temperatures 3 to 4 degrees above the normal levels.
It is only now that heat will spread further over the state of Odisha, which is generally regarded as one of the hottest pockets in India. In the coming days, expect temperatures to rise further over the state with many parts seeing maximums above 40 degrees.
