Although rains have reduced over Chhattisgarh during the last 24 hours, Odisha recorded light to moderate rains over many places during the last 24 hours. Particularly, the northern districts of Odisha adjacent to West Bengal received moderate rains. A few intense spells were also witnessed over this region.
A Confluence Zone was responsible for these rain activities. Also, humid easterly winds blowing from Bay of Bengal were feeding moisture leading to cloud formation and subsequent rainfall. Now, rains are gradually subsiding from the region. At present, the Confluence Zone has moved away eastwards.
These unseasonal rains will last for another 24 hours. The rain intensity will remain light to very light over Chhattisgarh. Although, parts of Coastal Odisha may continue to receive light rains with one or two moderate spells. By tomorrow, the weather over both the states will clear up.
Due to increased humidity, widespread dense fog is prevailing over many parts of Chhattisgarh and over a few parts of Odisha. Multiple flights had to be diverted from Chhattisgarh today morning.
Now, however, we expect the fog intensity to reduce gradually. Tomorrow also, we expect moderate to dense fog to affect for a few hours over Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Thereafter, due to increase in wind speed, the visibility is set to improve.
Gradually, the weather will start clearing up. Day temperatures will rise by two to four degrees over many parts of Chhattisgarh and Odisha due to clearance of cloud cover. Sun will come up and minimum temperatures may fall marginally over Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
