Delhi has recorded single digit temperature in nine days of November. The trend was last witnessed in November 2003.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, weather modules indicate that Delhi will continue to witness single digit temperature that is expected to plunge further below 8°C. If this happens, the city will break the above record.
In this month, Delhi recorded 9°C on 14th, 10.6°C on 15th, 9.4°C on 16th, 9.1°C on 17th, 8.6°C on 18th, 8.5°C on 19th, 9.8°C on 21th, 8.8°C on 22th, 8.8°C on 23th and 8.5°C on 24th.
City recorded its lowest minimum temperature of 8.5°C on November 24, which has been witnessed for the third time in last 15 years. The low temperature of 8.5°C was last recorded on November 28, 2012 and November 19, 2005.
Delhi has been experiencing below normal temperatures for quite sometimes now and if the city continues with the trend for few more days, it can be touted as the coldest November in last 15 years, making another record.
As per Skymet, the city has witnessed a dry spell so far in November, against the monthly normal of 3.7 mm of rainfall and no rain activity is expected. Prior to this, the city has only witnessed dry spell in 2004 and 2011.
