Northwest India welcomes change in weather as minimums dip and maximums to follow soon

We have reached fag end of October and weather has already started changing. We can see fall in minimum temperatures across the northwestern plains of the country. Most of the places have been experiencing minimums in the range of 13-16 degree-Celsius, thereby nights have now become cool.

However, days continue to be warm because we do not see any major weather system prevailing over or around the region and the sky is also clear. Day temperatures are in the range of mid 30s to lower 30s.

Wide open areas in Delhi- NCR during early morning hours tend to see shallow fog and mist because of low temperatures. Such conditions will prevail for another 10-15 days and eventually we will see a change in day and night temperatures. Both the maximums and minimums would start dropping.

Section of the society who are prone to air borne diseases will not witness any significant change as we don’t expect any further improvement in the levels of pollution.

The effect of rain on particulate pollution is small. Rain makes the ground wet, and that makes it harder for dust to get kicked up into the air again. What has a bigger effect on pollution is the wind pattern and its direction.

As per Skymet Weather, the difference between maximum and minimum temperature is very high and it is risky for the health too. The immunity level goes down during this time of the season. Such variation in temperatures also known as diurnal variation that gives birth to health issues like cold and cough. Simultaneously, the pollution levels have also increased, and it further deteriorates the health especially of the elderly and young children.
