Northwest, Central and East India receive good rain; showers likely to continue

Northwest India: The Western Disturbance and its associated cyclonic circulation over northwest region of the country will continue to pull moisture from the Arabian Sea and keep the weather rainy in almost all the states in the region.

-Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand witnessed rain in the past 24 hours and the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India indicates that the rain will continue to occur in eastern parts of the hills and plains. Some places in the Western Himalayan region would also witness snowfall during the next two days.

-Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, East Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh recorded rain last night, under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Haryana. As the weather system is expected to move eastward in next 24 to 48 hours, rain will start reducing in these areas. However, intermittent showers would continue for the next two days.

-Day temperatures will remain below normal due to clouds at many places in the region. They are expected to remain in the same range till the first week of March as another Western Disturbance and related cyclonic circulation is expected to affect the weather during this period.

Central and East India: The main cyclonic circulation which has brought good amounts of rain at several places in east central and East India will continue to fetch moisture from the Bay of Bengal during the next two days.

-Weather stations in Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Malda and Gangtok recorded rain in the last 24 hours

-Our latest weather update indicates that the weather in the region will continue to remain the same for the next two days. Day temperature are likely to remain significantly below normal

Northeast India: Many places in the region including Guwahati, Passighat, Dibrugarh and Shillong may witness light rain during the next 48 hours as the Western Disturbance and the cyclonic circulation in East India will move eastwards while, a trough from Assam to north Bay of Bengal will bring moisture to the region.

South India

-Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Telangana witnessed some rain in the past 24 hour. Solapur, Nagpur, Nizamabad and Ramagundam have been reported rain.

-According to latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India rain belt will shift a bit eastwards and south inteior Karnataka and Rayalaseema will now witness rain during the next 24 hours.
