People in North India have been waking up to fog free morning from last many days. In fact, Delhi and its neighborhood areas have managed to observe fog-free mornings though chilly nights are still felt by people in the national capital and its adjoining regions.
After witnessing some light rains on the night of January 14, Delhi, and other parts of Punjab and Haryana have managed to keep the fog at bay. Early morning today, Delhi’s Palam Observatory had recorded visibility at 2200 meters.
Due to a good visibility at the airport, air and road traffic has not been disrupted. No incidents of train and flight delays due to fog have been reported. However, Lucknow still witnessed a low visibility at 500 meters. Similarly, Guwahati also recorded the visibility at 800 meters.
As per Skymet Weather, now, the northern plains of the country are expected to witness partly cloudy sky but bright sunshine will also be a part of the weather pattern. However, due to a cyclonic circulation over Punjab and adjoining Haryana, light showers are expected to occur. Delhi and its adjoining areas though are likely to remain rain-free.
The weather pattern is also likely to witness a change paving way for a marginal rise in minimum temperature. This will further lead to abatement of cold wave conditions over the northern plains, particularly including Delhi and NCR.
Additionally, due to the replacement of warm and humid south-easterly winds over the prevailing dry and cool northwesterly winds, foggy weather is expected to come over Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi-NCR.
