The rain God has been very generous for Northeast India for the last week or so. We expect on-and-off light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spoils to continue over most parts of Northeast India. Despite widespread rainfall almost all the Northeastern states are deficient or large rain deficient until now. The reason for this rain deficiency can be attributed to the higher monthly average for Northeast India.
A trough is extending from Uttar Pradesh to Meghalaya across East India. Humid winds from the Bay of Bengal will continue to feed moisture over Northeastern states. In the wake of these weather parameters, we can expect scattered to fairly widespread rain and thundershowers to continue over North East and States for at least the next week.
These upcoming rain activities may improve the rain statistics for Northeast India. Weather will remain comfortable.
