Due to the onset of Northeast Monsoon, good rains have been occurring over many parts of Kerala. In fact, during the past 24 to 48 hours, the intensity of these rain and thundershower activities have been increasing significantly over the state.
Within a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Kochi recorded rainfall to the tune of 24 mm, followed by Thiruvananthapuram at 11.3 mm and Kottayam 7 mm.

At present, moderate rain and thundershowers will continue to occur at many places over Kerala. But the intensity of these rains is likely to decrease gradually within the next 24 hours.
After 24 hours, these rains are anticipated to once again pick up pace between October 31 and November 2.
The reason for such weather activities can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen prevailing over the south-east Arabian Sea off Kerala coast.
Due to this weather system, several districts in Kerala will observe moderate rains with one or two heavy spells for next few days.
Day temperatures are expected to remain around 32-34 degrees Celsius. Whereas, minimum temperatures will be settling around 24-25 degrees Celsius.
