Intense and widespread rainfall is expected over state of Telangana between 02 - 07 November. Heavy rainfall is quite likely at many places of the state on 04&05 November. State capital Hyderabad may witness heavy showers between 02nd and 04th November. Most of the weather activity will occur during evening and night and remain light to moderate at other times.

Telangana is not a part of sub divisions covered with northeast monsoon.  However, it shares boundary with 2 sub divisions, namely Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Meteorological conditions are building up to have spread out rains over erstwhile entire state of Andhra Pradesh.

Coastal Andhra Pradesh is the only sub division of northeast monsoon having large deficiency of 56% in the month of October so far. Though outside its regime, Telangana also has a huge shortfall of 37%. Rayalaseema is placed well with surplus of 5%. The upcoming wet spell will reduce the seasonal deficiency for the complete Deccan region.
A low pressure area is currently marked over southwest Bay of Bengal, off Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka coast.

This weather system will drift slowly westward along with the extended trough, likely to run across South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. An in situ cyclonic circulation is likely to form over South Telangana and adjoining parts of Rayalaseema and Karnataka. Accordingly, northeast monsoon will become vigorous over all the 5 sub divisions and this activity will also extend to the state of Telangana.
